Magnum's White Bullet (Max) 01/20/00-11/5/09

If you know my family you know Max. Before Julia and Greer we were a family of 3 Brian, Terra, and Max! We look him everywhere, even where dogs weren't allowed. You could just see it on peoples faces, "Oh No, they brought their dog!" Not that people didn't love him, b/c anyone that knew him was amazed at how good he was. I always said he was Brian in the form of a dog.

Brian's original plan for Max's life was to be a great hunting dog, well maybe he was at one time, but lately he was closer in comparison to a house cat.

We actually bought our first house b/c it had a great backyard for Max.

Before Julia and Greer I used to make Max pose infront of the Christmas Tree! He listened much better than they do. Our first apartment.

Believe it or not he slept in our bed!

He made the cover of almost every Christmas Card.

He loved the water and would fetch his dummy until I was afraid he would drown.

Last November in Kentucky!

He has been the most wonderful companion for Julia and Greer. They could play all over him and he wouldn't move. He was never jealous of them and he loved all the attention they gave him.

Thursday morning I heard Max downstairs. Brian went to check on him and didn't come back so I knew something was wrong. We both thought at that time maybe he had a stoke. He could barely walk he seemed to be trying to put all this weight on his left side. His right side was barely functioning. Brian took him to the vet, and we were thinking some steroids and some rest and we might be able to bring him home Friday. But Thursday night Max was not getting better. He was much worse. He was not responding to the steroids. The Dr. said Max mostly likely Max had a tumor on his brain that was causing extensive neurological problems. He was there, but he appeared lost. Brian and I have talked about this day so many times. We knew it was going to be so hard and we just weren't ready so say Good-Bye to Max. He was perfectly healthy on Wednesday and now and can't even walk. It was without a doubt the hardest thing our family has been through together. We had to say Good-Bye to Max. There is empty void in our home without him. Words can't expression how we are going to miss him. His spot by the kitchen table is empty. We will never have another dog and sweet and so wonderful. We Love You Max!

Max has of course always been his name until Greer starting talking and he has always called him Macky Boy! He talked to him just like he was a person. It was always the sweetest thing. Recently we bought Max a new bed and Greer so wanted to sleep with him on it.
